Harder To Put Up Than Anticipated
We are really pleased with the look once installed, but it was a harder process than I thought it would be. I watched quite a few online videos with tips concerning installing peel and stick wallpaper before starting our install. About all the ones I watched recommended two people, one at the top lining everything up and one person lower to peel off the backing. This was a slow and arduous task. We were only doing one small accent wall in a bathroom. We were leveled at the top but found that as you work top to bottom it's very easy for the material to be stretched and get out of line. After doing two rows like this and finding it almost impossible to line up the pattern exactly, I decided to go "rogue" and try this my own way which ended up working tons better. I rolled out the length of paper that I needed with some extra for pattern matching. I then cut off about a 4" strip vertically of the backing while the paper was still on the floor. Still using two people I started at the top lining up the pattern with my wife holding the rest of the strip away from the wall. I attached this 4" unbacked strip all the way down the wall being careful to line up the pattern. After completing that strip, we folded back the paper and removed all the rest of the backing and then in one fell swoop attached the newly unbacked paper back against the wall. This worked beautifully, was much faster, and was lined up perfectly. I also recommend using a dry erase marker to smooth out the paper as you go instead of a hard plastic squeegee, it's much gentler. It probably took us a couple of hours to put up three total strips.
